The Town of Shipshewana is located 41 miles east of South Bend along US Highway 20 in northwestern LaGrange County. The 30+ members of this all-volunteer department provide, Fire, Rescue and Medical First-Responder protection to 70 square miles including all of Van Buren and Newbury Townships as well as half of Clay Township. They also respond to 8 miles of the I-80/I-90 Toll Road.
